Yang Berbahagia Dato' (Dr.) Hj. Mohd. Karim bin Hj.
Abdullah Omar, is the Executive Chairman of Prima Nova
Group of Companies. His academic qualifications are:
Bachelor of Arts (Hons., 1968) from the University of
Malaya, and Personnel Management (1982) from the University
of Hertford, Connecticut, USA. A civil servant with
more than 20 years experience, Dato' (Dr.)Hj. Mohd.
Karim held various posts at the State and Federal levels
such as the Deputy Director of Services, Ministry of
Education (1973 - 1977), Director of Planning and Finance,
Ministry of Information (1978 - 1982), State Development
Officer, Terengganu (1982 - 1985), Deputy State Secretary
of Selangor and Director of State Economic Planning
Unit, Selangor (1985 - 1990). In 1986, Dato' Dr. Hj.
Mohd Karim was appointed by the state government as
Selangor's Chairman of Investment Centre (ICS) to attract
foreign investments to Selangor. Under his chairmanship,
ICS managed to bring in approximately RM20 billion investments
to Selangor and created more than 50,000 jobs between
1986 - October, 1995.

Upon his retirement from government service in December
1991, Dato' Dr. Karim was appointed as the Chief Executive
Officer of Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB),
until June 1996. He also sat on various Boards of Directors
of state agencies, state-owned companies, PNSB's subsidiaries
and associate companies. In 1995, he became the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the UCSI University until presently.
In 1996 Dato' Dr. Karim set up his own business Prima
Nova Group of Companies dealing in property development,
petrol stations, plastic manufacturing retails, car
parks and projects management. He was also the Director
of a few private and public-listed companies.
Dato' (Dr.) Hj. Mohd. Karim is active in social work
and in non-government organisations. He was the Chairman
of Selangor Bumiputera Professional and Entrepreneurs
Association for 18 years and the Councillor of Majlis
Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) for 12 years. Currently,
he is the Deputy Chairman of Selangor Malay Chamber
of Commerce since 1998, the Director of Selangor Citizens
Co-Operative since 2000 and the Vice President of the
Council of Justices of Peace of Selangor since 2004.
His academic and professional credentials include a
Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Economics, University Malaya
(1968), Masters in Public Management (Personnel), University
of Hartford, Connecticut, USA (1982), and Honorary Doctorate
in Management, UCSI University (2007).
Dato' Karim was conferred the S.M.S (Setia Mahkota Selangor),
S.M.T. (Setia Mahkota Terengganu), K.M.N. (Kesatria
Mangku Negara), D.S.S.A (Dato' Sultan Salahuddin Abdul
Aziz Aziz Shah, Selangor), D.P.M.T. (Dato' Paduka Mahkota,
Terengganu) and JP (Jaksa Pendamai, Selangor).
