Scholarships for Malaysian & International Students

Scholarships and a Sports Bursary are awarded to deserving Malaysians and International irrespective of race, religion and creed to pursue their higher education at UCSI University.

Scholarships are offered to students at Foundation, A-Levels, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

All Scholarship and Bursary applications and enquiries can be made in writing to [email protected].

The Tan Sri Ahmad Razali (TSAR) Merit Scholarship Award is offered to deserving Malaysian students who demonstrate excellent academic achievements and exemplary leadership attributes, participate actively in extracurricular activities, community involvement and have received outstanding recognition due to notable achievement.

Named after the late Tan Sri Ahmad Razali (Chairman, Board of Governors from 1998 to 2001), the scholarship award provides full fee waiver (tuition, facilities and lab), on-campus accommodation and monthly allowance throughout the student’s undergraduate study period at UCSI University. Allowance for computer and book will also be provided.

The TSAR Merit Scholarship Award is only open to Malaysian students who are enrolled in any degree programme at UCSI University. Shortlisted candidates are required to attend a scholarship selection interview

Criteria
Applicants must meet the following academic requirements:

This Scholarship is offered to Malaysian students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements and leaderships attributes, and participate actively in extracurricular activities and community involvements.

The scholarship is opened to Malaysian students who enrolled in any of the foundation programmes (leading to a degree) or any diploma or any degree* programmes at UCSI University or UCSI College.

Current UCSI students who have excellent academic grades and a track record of at least one year while studying at UCSI may apply for the Scholarship.

This scholarship award offers up to full or partial tuition fee waiver throughout the student’s undergraduate study period at UCSI University or UCSI College.

Shortlisted candidates are required to attend a scholarship selection interview.

Successful recipients must maintain a minimum AAB (full scholarship) or BBB (partial scholarship), below which the Scholarship will be revoked.

This Scholarship is offered to new intake Malaysian students pursuing the Pre-U programmes (Foundation in Arts/Business or Foundation in Science or Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT)) programme at UCSI College or UCSI University. It is open to those who obtained at least 5As in the SPM or 3As in IGCSE O-Level Examination taken in year 2024 and 2025.

This Bursary is open to any Malaysian state or national athlete who enrolled in any of the foundation programmes (leading to a degree*) or any diploma or any degree programmes at UCSI University or UCSI College.

Successful state athlete applicants will be awarded a will be awarded a 25 – 50% tuition fee waiver while national athlete applicants will receive a 75 – 100% tuition fee waiver for undergraduate study period at UCSI University or UCSI College.

Applicants must be State or National Athletes verified by the National Sports Council of Malaysia and the respective Sports Association.

The UCSI University Trust Graduate Scholarship is offered to qualified Malaysian candidates enrolled in any of the Master’s degree or Doctorate programmes by coursework or mixed-mode at UCSI University.

Successful applicants will be awarded a full or partial tuition fee waiver for postgraduate studies at UCSI University. Scholarship quantum to be decided by the Selection Committee.

ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA

  • For Master’s degree, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree – at least upper second class with honours with a minimum CGPA 3.50. For Doctorate programmes, applicants must have a Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Application is open to students who have enrolled in full time postgraduate studies at UCSI University.

The UCSI University Trust Graduate Scholarship is offered to qualified Malaysian candidates enrolled in any of the Master’s degree or Doctorate programmes by research at UCSI University.

Successful applicants will be awarded a full or partial tuition fee waiver for postgraduate studies at UCSI University. Scholarship quantum to be decided by the Selection Committee. A monthly stipend may be accorded to the candidate for an agreed duration which is subject to the funding availability and the Selection Committee’s approval.

ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA

  • For Master’s degree, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree – at least upper second class with honours with a minimum of CGPA 3.3. For Doctorate programmes, applicants must have a Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Application is opened to students pursuing full time postgraduate studies at UCSI University.
  • Applicant’s research project proposal must be part of the University’s project under supervision of respective faculty.

This Education Grant is offered to Malaysian new intake students of 2025 intakes to pursue foundation study leading to degree programme, diploma programme or degree programme at UCSI College or UCSI University.

ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA

This education grant provides partial tuition fee waiver for the candidates who demonstrate good academic achievements and active participation in extracurricular activities. The education grant entitlement corresponds to the academic achievements obtained. Tuition fee waiver is to be granted accordingly for Diploma, Degree, or Foundation and Degree..

Terms and Conditions:
Successful recipients must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 for every semester, below which the education grant will be revoked.

This education grant is open to Malaysian of new intake Medicine or Pharmacy students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements and active participation in extracurricular activities.

ELIGIBILITY/CRITERIA

  • The education grant offer corresponds to the academic achievements obtained. Tuition fee waiver is to be granted to successful applicants accordingly for their Degree Year 1 and Year 2 of the study at UCSI University.
  • As there is limited number education grant allocated, offer will be made base on first come first offer basis subject to applicants’ academic result meeting the criteria set and them successfully accepted to the programme by the faculty.
  • Applicants for Medicine and Pharmacy programmes must meet and satisfy the qualifying criteria, ie the relevant entry and English requirements (IELTS or TOEFL etc) set by the faculty for the respective programme including an admission interview.
  • Applicants for Education Grant must submit a complete application form with Letter of Acceptance issued by the faculty, relevant academic transcript and supporting documents for evaluation.

Terms and Conditions:
Successful recipients must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.30, below which the education grant will be revoked.

The UCSI University Trust Financial Assistance is offered to Malaysian students who come from rural area of Malaysia, B40/low income family, single parent family with low income background, people with disabilities and other similar difficult situations. where consideration with be given on a case to case basis.

Financial BackgroundFamily income less than RM6,000. (Required the necessary supporting documents for family income and expenses.)
RecommendationApplicants required to put in application to UCSI University Trust with the necessary supporting documents and recommendation by the respective authorities to verify the applicants’ financial background, eg local authorities, school principal, children home, presidents of respective association, etc
Terms & Conditions

Successful recipients must:

1.     Maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.50.

2.     Maintain their discipline, attendance and good behaviour throughout their studies at UCSI University.

3.     To contribute in various university’s events and community projects and involve in assignment to get workplace exposures. (up to 100 SWA points per long semester / 50 SWA points per short semester.)

The Graduate Excellence Programme (GrEP) is an education sponsorship programme in the form of Convertible Loans under the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) for Postgraduate levels (Master and Doctor of Philosophy) at leading Higher Education Institutions in the country and abroad to outstanding graduates in fields that have a large impact to the country’s employment needs.

Eligibility

Program Khas Lepasan SPM (LSPM) by the Public Service Department (JPA) is a sponsorship programme for students who scored at least a minimum of 9A+ in the SPM 2022 to pursue their tertiary studies locally.

This programme covers the student’s preparatory studies (pre-university, foundation) and will be extended to the whole duration of the student’s undergraduate first degree at public universities, government-linked universities or selected private higher education institutions in Malaysia based on the guidelines and conditions prepared by JPA.

  • Applicants must be Malaysian students not exceeding 25 years old as at the application date
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.25 or its equivalent at pre-university level(Foundation/Matriculation) or Diploma; OR Minimum CGPA of 3.25 or its equivalent in semester exam for those who are currently in the first year of Bachelor’s Degree programme; AND
  • Obtained 7As in SPM or 2As in STPM
  • Active in co-curricular activities with strong leadership and communication skills
  • Not a recipient of any other scholarship, financial grant or award from other organization
  • Applicants must pursue their studies full time

Eligibility
  • Malaysian students to pursue full time undergraduate studies (1st Degree course) and who have gained admission into recognized Public and Private Universities in Malaysia.
  • Applicants must not be bonded or receiving any form of financial aid or award from other educational institutions or organizations.
  • Applicants must score a of minimum of:
    • 3 As and 1 B in STPM
    • CGPA 3.40 and above in Matriculation or at Diploma level
    • Minimum 5 As in UEC
    • Pre-University such as A-Levels with minimum result of ABB, or
    • Foundation Studies with scoring of 85% and above
